City acupuncture: the sustainable development of the balanced city in post-industrial age
After the Franco dictatorship, a new chapter occurred in Barcelona’s Democracy. As having fully understood
the spirit of Cerda’s planning, the participants in Barcelona urban planning creatively started to use a
treatment called acupuncture in the city, which has the same spirit as traditional Chinese medical science, and
revived the ruined city, gradually gain back the balanced and sustainable management of the city.
The thesis introduces the problems Barcelona met in the post-industrial age and the corresponding solutions,
mainly focuses on Barcelona city renewal in the 80s, and tries to explain the relationship between traditional
Chinese medical science and city acupuncture, which will be the clue of the thesis. The thesis will be
described in three chapters, human body and city under the view of traditional Chinese medical science,
acupuncture therapy and the Barcelona model and sustainable development of the balanced city.Peer Reviewe
Waveform-Domain Adaptive Matched Filtering: A Novel Approach to Suppressing Interrupted-Sampling Repeater Jamming
The inadequate adaptability to flexible interference scenarios remains an
unresolved challenge in the majority of techniques utilized for mitigating
interrupted-sampling repeater jamming (ISRJ). Matched filtering system based
methods is desirable to incorporate anti-ISRJ measures based on prior ISRJ
modeling, either preceding or succeeding the matched filtering. Due to the
partial matching nature of ISRJ, its characteristics are revealed during the
process of matched filtering. Therefore, this paper introduces an extended
domain called the waveform domain within the matched filtering process. On this
domain, a novel matched filtering model, known as the waveform-domain adaptive
matched filtering (WD-AMF), is established to tackle the problem of ISRJ
suppression without relying on a pre-existing ISRJ model. The output of the
WD-AMF encompasses an adaptive filtering term and a compensation term. The
adaptive filtering term encompasses the adaptive integration outcomes in the
waveform domain, which are determined by an adaptive weighted function. This
function, akin to a collection of bandpass filters, decomposes the integrated
function into multiple components, some of which contain interference while
others do not. The compensation term adheres to an integrated guideline for
discerning the presence of signal components or noise within the integrated
function. The integration results are then concatenated to reconstruct a
compensated matched filter signal output. Simulations are conducted to showcase
the exceptional capability of the proposed method in suppressing ISRJ in
diverse interference scenarios, even in the absence of a pre-existing ISRJ

Rif1 Maintains Telomere Length Homeostasis of ESCs by Mediating Heterochromatin Silencing
SummaryTelomere length homeostasis is essential for genomic stability and unlimited self-renewal of embryonic stem cells (ESCs). We show that telomere-associated protein Rif1 is required to maintain telomere length homeostasis by negatively regulating Zscan4 expression, a critical factor for telomere elongation by recombination. Depletion of Rif1 results in terminal hyperrecombination, telomere length heterogeneity, and chromosomal fusions. Reduction of Zscan4 by shRNA significantly rescues telomere recombination defects of Rif1-depleted ESCs and associated embryonic lethality. Further, Rif1 negatively modulates Zscan4 expression by maintaining H3K9me3 levels at subtelomeric regions. Mechanistically, Rif1 interacts and stabilizes H3K9 methylation complex. Thus, Rif1 regulates telomere length homeostasis of ESCs by mediating heterochromatic silencing
Automatic Calibration Method of Channel Mismatches for Wideband TI-ADC System
Time-interleaved analog-to-digital converter (TI-ADC) technology can increase the sampling rate without changing resolution. But, the dynamic performance of TI-ADC system is seriously deteriorated by channel mismatches. Under the condition of large bandwidth, gain mismatch and timing mismatch vary with the frequency, which cannot be regarded as fixed values. To improve the dynamic performance of the TI-ADC system, an automatic calibration method of channel mismatches for wideband TI-ADC system is proposed in this article. Frequency-dependent channel mismatches are estimated by the algorithm based on sine fitting, and compensated by the means based on perfect reconstruction. The entire sampling and calculation process is automated and tedious operation is simplified. A 6.8-GS/s 12-bit wideband TI-ADC system is implemented. This sampling system can achieve SNDR (signal-to-noise and distortion ratio) above 49 dB and SFDR (spurious-free dynamic range) above 57 dB for an input signal from 100 MHz to 3300 MHz. The proposed calibration method improves the SNDR over 10 dB and the SFDR over 15 dB. The dynamic performance of the sampling system is close to that of its sub-ADC
Coherent Integration Method Based on Radon-NUFFT for Moving Target Detection Using Frequency Agile Radar
This paper considers the coherent integration problem for moving target detection using frequency agile (FA) radar, involving range cell migration (RCM) and the nonuniform phase fluctuations among different pulses caused by range-agile frequency (R-AF) coupling and velocity-time-agile frequency (V-T-AF) coupling. After the analysis of the term corresponding to the phase fluctuation caused by V-T-AF coupling, the term can be regarded as related to an equivalent non-uniform slow time, and nonuniform fast Fourier transform (NUFFT) could be the solution. So a fast coherent integration method combining Radon Fourier transform (RFT) and NUFFT based on low-rank approximation, i.e., Radon-NUFFT, is proposed. In this method, the RCM is solved by Radon algorithm via target trajectory searching, the non-uniform phase fluctuation caused by R-AF coupling is compensated by constructing a compensation item corresponding to the range and agile frequency. In addition, the compensation of the non-uniform phase fluctuation caused by V-T-AF coupling is converted into a problem of spectral analysis of non-uniform sampling complex-valued signal, which is solved by the NUFFT based on low rank approximation. Compared with the existing methods, the proposed method can realize the coherent integration for FA radar accurately and quickly. The effectiveness of the proposed method is verified by simulation experiments

Feasibility Study of Passive Bistatic Radar Based on Phased Array Radar Signals
This paper presents the concept of a passive bistatic radar (PBR) system using existing phased array radar (PAR) as the source of illumination. Different from PBR based on common civil illuminators of opportunity, we develop an experimental PBR system using an high-power air surveillance PAR with abundant signal modulation forms as the transmitter. After the introduction of the PBR system and PAR signals, it can be concluded that the agility of the waveform parameters of PAR signal brings two problems to the signal processing of the PBR systems, which are not discussed in conventional PBR systems. The first problem is the time and frequency synchronization of the system, so we propose a direct wave parameter estimation method based on template matching to estimate the parameters of the transmitted signal in real time to achieve time and frequency synchronization of the system. The second problem is the coherent integration for moving target detection and weak target detection, so we propose a coherent integration method based on Radon–Nonuniform Fast Fourier Transform (Radon-NUFFT) to deal with the problems introduced by the agile waveform parameters. Preliminary results from the field experiment demonstrate the feasibility of the PBR system based on PAR signals, and the effectiveness of the proposed methods is verified
Biodegradation of Crystalline and Nonaqueous Phase Liquid-Dissolved ATRAZINE by <i>Arthrobacter</i> sp. ST11 with Cd2+ Resistance
A newly isolated cadmium (Cd)-resistant bacterial strain from herbicides-polluted soil in China could use atrazine as the sole carbon, nitrogen, and energy source for growth in a mineral salt medium (MSM). Based on 16S rRNA gene sequence analysis and physiochemical tests, the bacterium was identified as Arthrobacter sp. and named ST11. The biodegradation of atrazine by ST11 was investigated in experiments, with the compound present either as crystals or dissolved in di(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP) as a non-aqueous phase liquid (NAPL). After 48 h, ST11 consumed 68% of the crystalline atrazine in MSM. After being dissolved in DEHP, the degradation ratio of atrazine was reduced to 55% under the same conditions. Obviously, the NAPL-dissolved atrazine has lower bioavailability than the crystalline atrazine. Cd2+ at concentrations of 0.05–1.5 mmol/L either had no effect (2+ promoted ST11 to degrade atrazine, whether crystalline or dissolved in DEHP. Refusal to adsorb Cd2+ may be the main mechanism of high Cd resistance in ST11 cells. These results may provide valuable insights for the microbial treatment of arable soil co-polluted by atrazine and Cd
